| pretty much just giving me an update on what's going on with his car accident and what's going on in japan right now...and he asked me to pass along his sincere thanks...it's ridiculous that drunk driver who hit them is out for so long...it's a shame they'll only hold him if he had killed someone, but not for this...anyways: Hey Ahmed:
Sorry to take so long to respond with an update but things have been extraordinarily hectic since the accident trying to care for Katy, prepare for the current trip to Japan and keeping up with work challenges [not the best of times to be a CFO]. Katy is home resting with friends staying with her while I'm in Japan. It will take about another 5 months for her injuries to heal [7.5 inch hemotoma on her left side, two ripped cartilages on her ribs and two cracked transverse processors on her lower back vertebrae]. I have a kidney bruise that should be fine in a few months. Oh yeah - and a scratch on my nose from the airbag:) EZ was declared a total wreck and I basically broke even with the insurance settlement paying off the note. Having just gone over the new 370Z at Nissan's Technical Center here in Atsugi and also reviewing the planned NISMO 370Z version to be released mid-2009, deciding how to replace EZ [350 or 370] will be a difficult choice [of course, the stock market will have to cooperate:)]. The drunk driver that hit us was released on his own recognizance and the DA estimates he will not come to trial for a year - a long enough period for him to get more DUI charges!! My Russian heritage is very patient - he has not heard the last from us by a long shot. Thanks for your concern, prayers and keeping the gang informed - impossible for me to get in touch with everyone. Also, please pass along my sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone for their prayers, support and positive reinforcement - it meant and means a great deal to Katy and I. Gotta get going - the schedule here in Japan is constant motion - rough job but someone has to do it [boring stuff like a tour of the Tochigi Plant where the Z in made, attending a 300+ Z car show on Saturday and driving at high speeds on Nissan's Proving Grounds track on Sunday with a bunch of parties in between dressed in Japanese traditional garb - sure hope they have the "Mad" Mike size or more of me might be showing than originally intended:))]!! Thanks again - Z ya>>>> "M"M
